Fornside Farm is idyllic and a welcome place to relax and recharge, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Four eco-friendly self-catering cottages, beautifully converted from stone barns, sit alongside the traditional Grade II listed farmhouse in a peaceful and beautiful valley. The setting is a stunning location at the foot of the Helvellyn range, surrounded by dramatic Lakeland scenery. Peacefully located yet within easy reach of Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside and all the other attractions of the English Lake District National Park.
The farm is set back from the road with direct access to the fells and beautiful countryside. The fields surrounding the holiday cottages are home to livestock; mainly sheep and free range hens. We also keep ducks and geese, whose antics keep everybody amused. We keep Oxford Sandy and Black pigs (in the Spring and Summer) and a few beehives, which yield the most scumptious honey. You are welcome to meet and feed our animals during your stay on the farm. We usually have fresh eggs from our free range hens available to buy, some of which are enormous and all of which are delicious. In Spring, our ducks and geese also lay yummy eggs.
