The Old Byre

The Old Byre was converted from a grade II listed barn adjoining our 17th century farmhouse and sleeps up to four people (and up to two small-medium-sized and well behaved dogs).

Upstairs master bedroom (with king-sized bed) and a twin bedroom.

Upstairs bathroom with shower.

Pets

We welcome dogs in The Old Byre and Swaledale Garth. Please ensure you will be able to comply with our terms if you’d like to bring dogs. There will be a £35 charge.

Additional Information:

There are shared (free) laundry facilities.
One acre paddock with picnic benches, swings and barbecues.
We collect and purify (without the use of chemicals) our own private water supply.
Fresh eggs often available to buy, some of which are enormous! And very delicious.
We have installed a PodPoint twin car charging facility for our guests who have an electric car.
Warm and friendly hosts, on-site to help answer any queries.
Tesco and Sainsbury will deliver to Fornside Farm if you are set up to use their delivery service.
Booths supermarket in Keswick is well worth a visit if you enjoy treating yourself to good food whilst on holiday – if you don’t know it already, think ‘upmarket Waitrose’.
We are an Ambassador for the acclaimed Theatre by the Lake; through us you can buy discounted tickets.

Cost Includes:

All electricity and heating costs.
Bedlinen, towels, tea towels, dishcloths.
Use of shared washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cots and highchairs are available if required, please book in advance.
Wifi connection in every cottage.

Pets

Strictly no smoking.

Check-in / Check-out Times
Earliest check-in is 4pm. Latest check-in is 11pm. We kindly ask that you check-out by 9.30am.

Payment
25% deposit. Balance due 6 weeks before your stay.

Wonderful

Comfortable beds and lovely underfloor heating, it was a treat to return to after our days out in the wild. We really could not fault it. Wonderful.

Snow capped views of Blencathra

We spent 3 nights here and would highly recommend it. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well equipped and spacious. The views were lovely! We woke to snow capped views of Blencathra this morning. Owned by a lovely family too. What more could you want!

A home from home, so cosy and homely

We have just returned from a week in Swaledale Garth with our toddler. I honestly would give a higher rating if I could as we were so impressed with our stay. The cottage was a home from home, so cosy and homely. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed with lots of space. The owners make you feel at home straight away.
